The social learning style is a bit of a mixed bag, taking traits from auditory, verbal, and visual learning styles. The social learning style is also known as the interpersonal learning style. Social learners tend to respond well in group discussions or in situations where they can discuss their learnings with other people.

Verbal learners – those that are naturally born speakers and tend to find it easy to express themselves, not only verbally, but also in the written word. Often the verbal learning style is confused with the auditory learning style, but while they do share some similarities, they are different (auditory learners learn through hearing in general as opposed to words they hear).

Logical learners do well when studying math and logical reasoning, as well as by seeing connections and seeking out relationships between concepts. They succeed when using order, steps, and logic, can recognise patterns and have a systematic approach to learning. Unsurprisingly, they are very well organised.

Kinesthetic learners learn best through touching, feeling and experiencing a concept. They prefer to experience ideas by testing and demonstrating rather than discussing and best learn by taking things apart and putting them together again to see how it unfolds. You often know a kinesthetic learner when you come across one. They learn through movement, building, and visuals.

Visual learning is another of the main learning styles, and as the name suggests, this is a learner who remembers by sight, preferring pictures, images and printed form over oral instructions and storytelling. It is interesting to note that visual learners can remember 75% of what they see or read, so they do take lots of notes.

Auditory learning is one of the main learning styles, and people who are auditory learners learn best through sound, spoken language, storytelling and oral instruction. These students tend to learn best with repetition or rote learning – hearing a concept and then relaying it into their own words. Often they learn best when reciting or reading out loud.
